A new report from the World Cancer Research Fund shows that there is strong scientific evidence that even 1 glass of alcohol a day, such as a glass of wine or beer (about 10 grams of alcohol), can increase the risk of breast cancer before and after menopause . The findings in the report also show that physical activity can reduce the risk of breast cancer. In menopause breast cancer it involves intensive physical exercise such as swimming and running.
In order to reduce the risk of breast cancer, it advises the WCRF to drink no or less alcohol, move more and stay healthy.

Research: Obesity also increases the risk of breast cancer


The study confirms that overweight and obesity increase the risk of breast cancer after menopause, the most common form of breast cancer. Overweight and obesity is known to increase the risk of 10 other types of cancer, including bowel, liver and pancreatic cancer.

Research reports on breast cancer


For the new report, researchers gathered and analyzed findings from 119 studies from all over the world. The survey involved data of a total of 12 million women, of which 260,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer. It is the largest analysis of the World Cancer Research Fund on breast cancer since 2010.
